Aldi Coming To Towcester?

Aldi one of the fastest growing supermarkets in the UK may be coming to Towcester.

There will be a public meeting at Towcester Town Hall between 4 pm and 8 pm next Wednesday 27th May.

Comment from Jonathan Neale Property Director at Aldi:

“I can confirm that ALDI are preparing to submit a new planning application for the CWG site opposite Tesco. A public meeting display and presentation of these plans will be held from 4:00pm – 8:00pm on Wednesday 27th May in Towcester Town Hall. ALDI representative will be on hand to answer any queries local residents may have.”

I should imagine Aldi would get a warm welcome here in Towcester.
I`ve looked at the plans and feel they would fit nicely into the enviroment. Car parking covers the needs for disabled and mums/dads with children although too few of them. HOWEVER, I can see a problem arising for the disabled population of Towcester. A majority of them use electric scooters. How are they suppose to cross busy roads? I think an underpass would be an EXCELLENT idea.
