Lions International has a worldwide programme in support of eyecare organisations. Through the generosity of local Towcester people, used spectacles are despatched to countries in the third world.
This weekend the Towcester and District Branch of Lions International are carrying out part of the Lions Eye Health awareness programme nearer to home.
They are seeking answers to the question "My eyesight is fine, why do I need a sight test?" Displays will be on show at Waitrose, Towcester from 9am to 3pm on Saturday and leaflets will be available on sight-threatening eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, etc
