Family Fun Run in Aid of Charity

There is still time to enter the 2nd annual South Northants charity 3km Fun Run being held on Sunday 28 June at Towcester Racecourse starting at 11am.
Organised by South Northamptonshire Council and ‘Run for the Children’, people can raise funds for The Children’s Trust or, if they prefer, for a charity of their choice. The Children’s Trust provides care, education and therapy to children with multiple disabilities and complex health needs.
The emphasis is on having fun and not winning, it really is the taking part that counts! The aim of the Fun Run is to get the whole family more active so they gain all the associated health benefits from exercising. Mums, dads, grandparents and children are encouraged to run, jog or even walk the course and everyone who finishes will receive a medal.
The Fun Run is being organised by ‘Run for the Children’ with the help of South Northamptonshire Council and the run route is being marshalled by Silson Joggers AC. There will also be entertainers, Black Thunder from Northants 96 and other attractions for the whole family to take part in.
New in 2008 – Cycling! As well as running and walking, people can cycle their way round the course. This is part of the national Bike Week campaign and the cycle ride starts at 12 noon.
