South Northamptonshire Council has awarded grant funding to Fiori Musicali, a music organisation, which perform baroque concerts in many churches and historic locations across the country and abroad.
To help celebrate Fiori Musicali's twenty-fifth anniversary, the Council will be funding the concerts that are planned at a number of venues across South Northamptonshire.
The first concert will be held at 7pm on Sunday 1 June, at Courteenhall House. Soprano Grace Davidson and harpsichordist, Penelope Rapson, will be performing songs written by some of the many composers who visited Venice, including Handel and Albinoni.
Councillor Sandi Smallman, said: “Fiori have great plans for music in the district this year, and we are delighted to be a part of it. They have put together a particularly elaborate series of concerts, across a wide variety of venues, with music to suit everyone’s taste.
“The concerts complement the range of performing arts arranged around the district through Northants Touring Arts scheme, which will also be grant funded by us again this year.”
Director of Fiori Musicali, Penelope Rapson, will also be offering workshops in the area so that people can discover more about baroque.
