New Look Northants Police Authority Website

THE new-look Police Authority website has been designed to make policing in Northamptonshire more personal to those who live and work in the county.
The overhaul of the site at www.northantspoliceauthority.org.uk co-incided with the formal introduction of the Authority’s four new councillor members at the recent annual general meeting.
The site incorporates the drive towards a more Citizen Focus style of policing.
At the click of a mouse, visitors to the site can browse minutes and agenda items of recent meetings.
Also featured are news releases relating to the Authority and the public consultation undertaken by the Authority to ensure that local communities drive the policing agenda in Northamptonshire.
A section is dedicated to the Policing Pledge, with appropriate links highlighted, and there is also provision for Freedom of Information requests.
The website text can simply be translated into a variety of different languages.
And for those who are visually impaired, a ‘Talking Text’ option is also in place.
David Peet, Deputy Chief Executive of Northamptonshire Police Authority, said: “We hope these improvements will be welcomed by the public.
“We are committed to making policing more personal and these changes have been made to ensure that the Authority’s programme around the policing of Northamptonshire is now more accessible, not least to those who are visually impaired and to members of the county’s new communities.
“The Authority’s aim is to ensure the best and most cost-effective policing for those who live and work in Northamptonshire.”
