Towcester has finallly got its all weather pitch, opened today (Sunday 1st November) by Sir Trevor Brooking with Under 20's Towcester England player Elliott Parish also on hand.

Since 2004 Towcester and District Sports Council have campaigned for additional sports pitches, in November 2006 a public meeting was held which highlighted the need, in 2007 Brian Taylor stood as an independent for the district council and the issue of sports pitches being his platform and in 2008 The South Northamptonshire Leisure Trust put together a bid for the Astroturf pitch. We are grateful for the help and support of Northamptonshire Football Association, Serco Leisure, Transition UK Ltd and Towcester and District Sports Council in this process and funding from The Football Foundation, South Northants Council and Towcester Town Football Club along with the Trust made this possible.
