The Mayor of Towcester, Jacqueline Hart, hosted a successful charity Tea Dance on Sunday October 10th to raise funds towards one of her 3 chosen charities. CLAPA (Cleft Lip and Palate Association) supports those affected by a condition that affects approximately one in every seven hundred babies born in the UK and is the most common congenital craniofacial anomaly.
Jacqueline was supported in the organisation of the event by Sharon and Tony McMurray of Towcester Tea Rooms, who host their own annual Charity Tea Dance at the Town Hall every March.
Tony commented “we were pleased to support Jacqueline with this event, in particular the charity CLAPA, as my own brother was born with a Cleft Lip”.
Those attending enjoyed over two hours of all forms of dancing as well as an appetising scone with clotted cream, Tea and Coffee.
The amount raised was over £400 and will be combined with other monies raised throughout the Mayor's year in office.
