South Northants Leisure Trust Success With 2012 Olympic Countdown

Part of the Blaze Dance celebrating the Olympics
South Northants Leisure Trust and Towcester Centre for Leisure opened their doors to a sporting and cultural extravaganza on Saturday 23rd July as part of the London 2012 Open Weekend - a series of sporting and cultural events took place across the kingdom which saw thousands of people participating in events to celebrate the ‘One Year to Go’ countdown to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
In partnership with the local community and local clubs, Towcester Centre for Leisure presented a marathon event, a once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate the count down to London 2012.
WIth a enormous choice including: Penalty shootouts, juggling, walking on stilts, kayaking, waterpolo, climbing, cycling, martial arts, archery... to name a few.
The event was a great success and was supported to by F1 Force India, the police and music was supplied by Towcester Rockschools.
The event was rounded off with the Blaze Dance Relay, followed by a mass participation dance.
A really great Towcester event.
