Police appeal after M1 fatal crash on Sunday
Police are appealing for information about a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the northbound carriageway of the M1 yesterday morning (Sunday).
At around 11.40am, a green Land Rover Defender left the carriageway between Newport Pagnell Services and Junction 15 of the M1.
The Land Rover landed on its roof on the verge by the hard shoulder and the drivers of two other vehicles - a black Audi A3 and a blue Toyota Corrolla - stopped a little further up the hard shoulder to assist the occupants of the Land Rover.
A few moments later, a green Peugeot 406 also left the carriageway and was in collision with the stationary Audi and Toyota.
The driver of the Peugeot - a 54-year-old man from north London - was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no other serious injuries to the three occupants of the Land Rover, the two occupants of the Audi or the driver of the Toyota
Witnesses to this collision, or anyone with information about it, should contact the Driewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.
