Civic leaders will be getting in the festive spirit next week and are inviting members of the public to join the carol service hosted by the chairman of South Northamptonshire Council.
Every year the SNC chairman invites, local charities, civic leaders from neighbouring districts and members of the public to the fundraising carol service.
This year Cllr Fiona Baker will be raising money for Northamptonshire Young Carers and the carols will be supported by performances from the Sponne School Musicians and the Towcester Songbirds choir.
Cllr Baker said: “Christmas is a magical time and I look forward to sharing a traditional festive sing-a-long with fellow civic leaders and the wider community.
“But we should not forget those young carers who have been thrust to the forefront of their families. They may only be able catch a glimpse of that Christmas magic and I hope money raised during this service shows them they are not on their own and their community supports them.”
The SNC Chairman’s Carols take place at 6pm on Thursday, 14 December 2017 in the Council Chamber at The Forum in Moat Lane, Towcester.
Tickets are free but, due to room capacity, must be booked in advance via the Eventbrite booking service - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/chairmans-carol-service-tickets-39519731581.
