Pushing on towards Litchborough on the 25 mile time - Keith Gelder
The latest A5 Rangers Cycling Club evening time trial resulted in a first win for Rob Griffin. Rob, who always gave the faster riders a run for their money in previous events, recorded a time of 1 hour 08 minutes and 38 seconds for the undulating Litchborough to Sulgrave and back 25 mile course.
Another rider who moved up several places was runner-up Chris Mason with 1.09.16. A close tussle for third place was narrowly taken by Murray Kirton whose 1.10.02 was only 26 seconds better than Derek Moyle. Other times were as follows: Trevor Parrish 1.11.56, Nick Lawther 1.14.17, Richard Holmes 1.15.19, Andrew Overton 1.16.35, Pete Semler 1.17.31, Keith Gelder 1.20.13, Matthew Wootton 1.05.31.
This Saturday afternoon sees the Club promote the fifth event in the Northampton and District Cycling Association series of time trials. A total of sixty-nine riders have entered.
As well as local riders from the A5 Rangers, Baines Racing and Team Milton Keynes the event has attracted participants from Peterborough, Rugby, Chelmsford and Leamington Spa.
The distance is 19 miles and once again uses roads based on the Litchborough to Sulgrave course.
