Silson AC have had a busy time recently, here is what they have been up to:
- Alex Douglas and James Darcy completed the Abingdon Marathon, both with amazing times - a PB for Alex!
- Ann Williams was delighted to have cut a minute off her previous years time at the Great South Run.
- Richard Popiel, Paul Rose and Matthew Wootton stormed the Snowdonia Marathon.
- Caroline Mackenzie, Kit Rapson, Julie Long and Linda Lytollis had a fabulously fun time running the 10k MoRun in November. This is their annual dress up and run race - this year they were all dressed as Gnomes!
Silson’s Marathon man, Paul Rose, has completed his latest challenge with style - 10 Marathons in 10 days and 52 Marathons in 52 weeks! This takes his Marathon total to 140! Paul’s daughter, Chelsey Rose, is hot on her fathers heels and racking up her own Marathon count (currently 22) whilst bringing down her time with each one.
Jo Japp has recently completed her 50th parkrun and her 4th Marathon. There is no doubt that this smiley and determined young lady will have her Marathon count in double figures very soon.
Rounds 2 (Teardrop Lakes) and 3 (Stopsley Park) of the Chiltern XC League have passed in a blur but have both had a fantastic Silson AC presence nonetheless. There have been lots of debut performances in both the Silson Senior and Junior races (Holly Long -u11, Rosemary Heley - u11, Batiste De Oliveira - u11, Herbie Wright - u11, Oliver Herring - u13, Isabel Sumner -u13, Ella Townsend, Helen Heley, Neil Jamie, Tom Watson and Jakob Ebrey). It takes a lot of courage to run at events like this, no matter how good a runner you are and all of them finished strong and happy with their run. Silson are currently 4th overall.
