Inspiring cookery programmes are few and far between on TV. However I really enjoyed the Neneh Cherry and Andi Oliver one on BBC2. Here is a version of their potato salad.

1. Cook potatoes in boiling salted water for 15 mins.

2. Drain and while hot, roughly chop and sprinkle with vinegar, oil and salt & pepper to taste.

3. Mix all other ingredients in a bowl.

4. Add potatoes, mix well and season.

Variations: add chopped parsley, spring onions, red onions or chives
