Dalscote Jubilee ‘Barn’ Party
In honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee the residents of Dalscote (a small hamlet of just 18 houses) decided that it would be fun to hold a street party and give us all a chance to meet up with our neighbours for a celebration.
The initial plan was to have a barbeque/street party on the grassy circle in Anna’s Lane but, with the dreary wet weather, we decided to take up the offer of Peter and Janet Evans and hold it in their grain store instead!
So, we put up the bunting, laid out the straw bales, lit the barbeques and enjoyed the vast amount of food and drink provided by everyone, listening to 60’s and 70’s music on an old Juke Box. We all had a great time and there are rumours that we might be doing it all again next year!
