Launch Of Pubwatch Scheme For Deanshanger

A new Pubwatch Scheme for the Deanshanger area will be launched on Thursday 1 May at 10am in the Coffee Pot public house in Yardley Gobion.
Pubwatch is a community based crime prevention scheme, organised by licensees with the support of Northamptonshire Police.
Publicans join together and form a message-passing link with each other so that they are able to have an early warning about crime, troublemakers, or other incidents affecting licensed premises in the area.
Police Constable and Licensing Officer Tam Dunn, who is launching the scheme, said: "The scheme will reduce the risk of assaults on licensees, their staff and customers and reduce the risk of damage to property.
"Experience has shown that where the schemes are well administered, violent incidents associated with licensed premises have decreased."
Members operate an exclusion policy where anyone who is barred from one premises will find they are barred from all licensed premises in the Pubwatch scheme.
"It will provide confidence, support and protection to Licensees and their premises, whilst also increasing cooperation with the Police. Most importantly, it will improve the public image of the Deanshanger and surrounding area," PC Dunn continued.
Pubwatch membership is open to any licensed venues in the Deanshanger and surrounding area. Any new members interested in joining the scheme are welcome to attend the launch.
