Craft Club Success At Greens Norton Primary School

Craft Club is a new venture co-ordinated by the Crafts Council to provide young people with the opportunity to learn craft skills from members of the community.
Greens Norton Primary School near Towcester was able to run a Craft Club with great success.
Mary Brind-Surch, Volunteer Co-ordindator said, "Here in Greens Norton there were volunteers from the WI and Fifty Plus keen to pass on knitting skills to the children at Greens Norton Primary School. Support was also be offered by Mrs Waite.
"A Craft Club was run initially for 7 sessions on Thursday lunchtimes.
"We provided yarn and needles and startedt with simple casting on and other techniques leading onto small decorative projects.
"17 children aged between 8 and 11 and 11 volunteers showed off the finished bunting at a school assembly today."
