M1 WIDENING - JUNCTION 25 TO JUNCTION 28
AMENDED - M1 Junction 25 to Junction 28
The layout of the northbound and southbound carriageway has been changed between Junction 26 and Junction 27 with the introduction of narrow lanes, no hard shoulder and a 24-hour 50mph speed limit for the safety of drivers and roadworkers.
* The northbound and southbound carriageways will be reduced to a single lane at Junction 25, and the southbound exit sliproad at Junction 25 will be closed between 9pm to 5am, on Tuesday 6 May and Wednesday 7 May
* The southbound carriageway will be reduced to two lanes at Junction 27, and the southbound entry sliproad at Junction 27 will be closed between 9pm to 5am, on Tuesday 6 May and Wednesday 7 May
* The northbound carriageway will be reduced to two lanes at Junction 26 and the Junction 26 northbound entry sliproad will be closed between 9pm to 5am, Thursday 8 May and Friday 9 May

ONGOING - A610 Nuthall, Nottinghamshire
Work to upgrade the two bridges that carry the M1 over the A610 at Junction 26 near Nuthall, Nottingham continues and is expected to be complete in July 2008.
During the upgrading work there will be single lane closures on the westbound and eastbound A610 approaches to the Junction 26 roundabout on weekdays between 9.30am to 3.30pm until the completion of the works. There will be a temporary speed limit of 30mph for 24 hours a day throughout the construction period.
ONGOING - Pinxton bridge widening
Work has begun on the bridge over the B6019 Kirkby Lane (marked on some maps as Pinxton Green). Kirkby Lane is now fully closed until July 2008. Once Kirkby Lane re-opens in July, Brookhill Lane will then close to all traffic until November.
In both cases pedestrian access will be maintained and diversion routes will be clearly signed.
ONGOING - B600 Nuthall Nottinghamshire
Ongoing works to widen the bridge that carries the M1 over the B600 Nottingham Road, Nuthall. Lane width reductions and occasional off peak two-way temporary traffic lights between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Works ongoing until summer 2008.

A1 PETERBOROUGH TO BLYTH JUNCTION IMPROVEMENTS
AMENDED - A1, Markham Moor roundabout, Nottinghamshire
Ongoing junction improvements until late 2008. Currently narrow lanes north and southbound with 50mph speed restrictions.
* From Monday 5 May until Thursday 8 May and again on Sunday 11 May - overnight lane two closure southbound prior to the roundabout between 8pm and 6am
AMENDED - A1, Apleyhead roundabout, Nottinghamshire
New junction now in use, but with a 50mph speed limit remaining in place while work continues with the downgrading of the old A1. The old Apleyhead roundabout is reduced to a single lane while works take place. The works are expected be fully complete by spring 2008.
* From 8pm Friday 9 May until 6am Monday 12 May - A57 and A1 northbound entry slip road will be closed for roundabout resurfacing. Clear diversions will be in place.
AMENDED - A1, Colsterworth roundabout, Lincolnshire
Ongoing construction of new junction until mid 2009. Currently narrow lanes north and southbound for the construction of north and south bridges. A 50mph speed restriction is in place. Overnight weekend closures are planned for spring 2008 to install the bridge decks.
* From Tuesday 6 May until Friday 9 May - overnight lane 2 closures north and southbound, south of the roundabout between 8pm and 6am
AMENDED - A1, Blyth roundabout, Nottinghamshire
Ongoing major junction improvements until spring 2008.
* From Monday 5 May onwards - north and southbound running in two lanes on the new road with all entry and exit slip roads open
ONGOING - A1, Gonerby Moor roundabout, Lincolnshire
Ongoing major junction improvements until June 2008. Narrow lanes in place in both directions through the works, lane one on the new southbound on slip and off slip roads is closed and the old roundabout is reduced to a single lane. A 50mph speed limit is in place on the A1.
ONGOING - A1, Carpenters Lodge, south of Stamford
Currently narrow lanes for the construction of a new junction is in place. A 50mph speed limit is in place on the A1 in both directions. Racecourse Road remains closed. Signed diversions are in place.

NEW, AMENDED AND ONGOING WORKS
DERBYSHIRE
NEW - A52 between M1 Junction 25 to Bardill's Roundabout
Work to renew bridge expansion joints on the A52 Brian Clough Way near Sandiacre, Derbyshire will start on Sunday 11 May and is due to finish on Saturday 17 May. All the work will be carried out overnight between 8pm until 6am and will require either single lane or full carriageway closures of the eastbound and westbound carriageway between M1 Junction 25 and the Bardill's Roundabout.
On Sunday 11 May and Friday 16 May lane one on the A52 east and westbound will be closed. From Monday 12 May until Thursday 15 May there will be a full closure of the A52 east and westbound including the closure of the A52 eastbound slip road from the M1 Junction 25. Signed diversions will be in place.
AMENDED - M1 Junction 25 to Junction 26
Work on between Junction 25 and 26 for carriageway repairs.
* Junction 25 northbound entry slip road closed on Tuesday 6 May with the M1 southbound reduced to a single lane and the M1 northbound reduced to a single lane with hard shoulder running between 9pm and 5am
* Junction 25 southbound entry slip road closed on Wednesday 7 May with the M1 southbound reduced to a single lane with hard shoulder running between 9pm and 5am
* M1 southbound closed between Junction 25 entry and exit slip roads from 9pm Thursday 8 May until 5am the following morning
LEICESTERSHIRE AND RUTLAND
NEW - A46 near Old Dalby Leicestershire
The A46 southbound entry and exit slip-roads at the junction with the A6006 near Old Dalby will be closed from 8pm on Tuesday, 6 May until 6am the following morning to enable a survey of the road surface to be carried out in preparation for resurfacing work later in the summer. Signed diversion will be in place.
ONGOING - A46, Wanlip (A46/A6 Birstall Swayfields Development)
Ongoing works on and around A6 junction for new service station expected until June.
ONGOING - M69 near Hinckley
Major maintenance work to resurface the north and southbound carriageway around M69 Junction 2 continues. Work is being carried out 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is expected to be complete by June. Each carriageway will be reduced to two lanes, with one direction in contraflow at any time. Both slip roads will be closed at times throughout the scheme when traffic flow is lightest. Diversion routes will be clearly signed posted. A 50mph speed restriction is in operation, enforced by average speed cameras.
LINCOLNSHIRE
NEW - A46 Skellingthorpe
One lane of the A46 will be closed at Skellingthorpe near Lincoln from 8pm on Wednesday 7 May until 6am the following morning for communications works.
ONGOING - A1 Barrowby to A1/A46/A17 Junction
Overnight lane one closure both north and southbound, for the installation of emergency diversion route signs. Work will take place from 8pm and 6am on varying nights until the end of May.
NORTHAMPTONSHIRE
ONGOING - A14 junction 7 to 10 near Kettering
Overnight closures of lane one or two on both the east and westbound carriageways of the A14 between Junction 7 and Junction 10 for drainage works. Work is expected to be complete by the end of May and will take place between 8pm and 6am Mondays to Thursdays, and 9pm and 6am on Fridays.
ONGOING - A5 railway bridge maintenance near Rugby and Daventry
Maintenance work on three railway bridges near Rugby and Daventry, on the A5 in Northamptonshire continues. The work affects the Brockhall, Welton and Kilsby bridges, which all carry the A5 over the West Coast mainline.
Work is being carried out on all three bridges simultaneously for 24 hours a day and will require single lane closures for 250 metres at each site, initially on the northbound carriageway, then the southbound. Traffic is being controlled by temporary traffic lights and is subject to a 40 mph speed restriction for the duration of the work.
There will be times when the railway lines under each bridge will have to be closed overnight to enable work to be carried out safely. The planned closure dates, which are subject to change, are currently overnight on Saturdays 28 June, 12 July, 19 July, 26 July and 2 August. Virgin and London Midland services will be subject to alteration during these times and passengers are advised to check with train companies before travelling.
ONGOING - A43 Swan Valley
Works to convert the existing single lane carriageway link road to a dual carriageway between Swan Valley Way roundabout and the northern A43 roundabout at junction 15A of the M1 continues. A temporary 40mph speed limit is in place. During the works there will be a reduction in width of the carriageway and lane closures. The works are expected to be complete in October.
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
AMENDED - M1 Junction 25 to Junction 26

AMENDED - A52 Whatton to Elton Road bridge
A scheme involving the resurfacing and partial reconstruction of both carriageways on the A52 between Whatton and Elton Road bridge continues and is due to be completed in May.
* Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place overnight on Tuesday 6 May, Wednesday 7 May and Thursday 8 May between 8pm and 6am

Overnight lane one closure both north and southbound, for the installation of emergency diversion route signs. Work will take place from 8pm and 6am on varying nights until the end of May.
ONGOING - A46 Saxondale Island to Winthorpe A1
Overnight lane closures and temporary traffic lights for the installation of emergency diversion route signs. Work will take place between 8pm and 6am Monday to Saturday only on varying nights until the end of May.
CAMBRIDGESHIRE
NEW - A1(M) Junction 17 at Peterborough
A scheme to reconstruct and resurface two slip roads at junction 17 of the A1(M) at Peterborough, Cambridgeshire will begin on Tuesday 6 May.
The northbound entry slip at junction 17 will be closed 24 hours a day from 1am on Tuesday 6 May until 6am on Friday 23 May.
The southbound exit slip road at junction 17 will then close at 6am on Monday 16 June and will also remain closed 24 hours a day until 6am on Monday 14 July. Clearly signed diversions will be in place during the closures:
