M1 WIDENING - JUNCTION 25 TO JUNCTION 28

Junction 25 to Junction 26

* Northbound will be reduced to a single lane on Monday 23 June between 9am and 5pm
* Southbound will be reduced to a single lane on Monday 23 June between 9am and 5pm

Junction 26 to Junction 27

* North and southbound narrow lanes with no hard shoulder and a 24-hour 50mph speed limit for the safety of drivers and roadworkers until Autumn 2008

Junction 27 - Junction 28

* North and southbound carriageway reduced to two lanes between 9pm and 5am on Tuesday 24 June

AMENDED - A610 Nuthall, Nottinghamshire

Work to upgrade the two bridges that carry the M1 over the A610 at Junction 26 near Nuthall, Nottingham continues.
* One lane closed in each direction at the roundabout between 9.30am and 3.30pm on weekdays until August 2008
* Roundabout reduced to to a single lane between 8pm and 5am on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 23-25 June

ONGOING - Pinxton bridge widening

Work continues on the bridge over the B6019 Kirkby Lane (marked on some maps as Pinxton Green). Kirkby Lane is now fully closed until the end of July 2008. Once Kirkby Lane re-opens in July, Brookhill Lane will then close to all traffic until November. Pedestrian access will be maintained and diversion routes will be clearly signed.

ONGOING - B600 Nuthall Nottinghamshire

Ongoing works to widen the bridge that carries the M1 over the B600 Nottingham Road, Nuthall. Lane width reductions and occasional off peak two-way temporary traffic lights between 9.30am and 3.30pm. Works ongoing until summer 2008.

A1 PETERBOROUGH TO BLYTH JUNCTION IMPROVEMENTS

AMENDED - A1, Blyth roundabout, Nottinghamshire

Ongoing major junction improvements until summer 2008.
* From Monday 23 June onwards - lane two closure on the northbound exit slip road and lane two closure on the northbound A1(M) entry slip road. Lane one closure on the southbound exit slip road.
* Lane one overnight closure on the northbound A1(M) 2km prior to the new bridge from Monday 23 to Thursday 26 June between 8pm and 6am
* Full closure of the A614 from Friday 27 June at 8pm till Monday 30 June at 6am. Traffic will be diverted via Oldcoates to Blyth. Three way traffic lights will be in place on the roundabout.

AMENDED - A1, Markham Moor roundabout, Nottinghamshire

Ongoing junction improvements until late 2008.
* Currently narrow lanes north and southbound with 50mph speed restrictions.
* Lane two overnight closures on both carriageways north of the roundabout from Monday 23 June until Thursday 26 June between 8pm and 6am.

ONGOING - A1, Colsterworth roundabout, Lincolnshire

Ongoing construction of new junction until mid 2009.
* Currently narrow lanes north and southbound for the construction of north and south bridges. A 50mph speed restriction is in place. An overnight weekend closures is planned on 19 and 20 July to install the Colsterworth north bridge deck.

AMENDED - A1, Carpenters Lodge, south of Stamford

Currently narrow lanes for the construction of a new junction is in place.
* A 50mph speed limit is in place on the A1 in both directions. Racecourse Road remains closed. Signed diversions are in place.
* From Monday 23 June until Friday 27 June - the B1081 will be closed and traffic diverted via the A6121 and the A1 and vice versa

NEW, AMENDED AND ONGOING WORKS


LEICESTERSHIRE AND RUTLAND

NEW - A5 Wibtoft to Magna Park

Major maintenance work will take place along 5km of the A5 between Wibtoft junction and the Cross in Hand roundabout near Magna Park from Saturday 21 June to 15 August. A contraflow and 50mph speed limit will be in place on the northbound dual carriageway. Work on the single lane carriageways southbound will include a number of weekend closures. The first will take place overnight on Saturday 21 June and Sunday 22 June between 8pm and 6am. Full weekend closures will then take place between 8pm Fridays and 6am Mondays from Friday 27 June and every weekend until final closure on Friday 8 August. Signed diversions will be in place and local access will be maintained.

LINCOLNSHIRE

ONGOING - A1 Foston to Gonerby Moor

Overnight scheme to resurface the A1 southbound between Foston and Gonerby Moor continues and is due to be completed by Wednesday 25 June. The A1 southbound will be closed each night between 8pm and 6am from its junction with the A46/A17 at Newark to the Gonerby Moor junction.
The slip roads will also be closed at the roundabout junction with the A46/A17 at Newark and at Long Benington. In addition the gaps in the central reserve at Foston will be closed, as will the laybys on the southbound A1. Signed diversions will be in place.

NORTHAMPTONSHIRE

NEW - A5 Watford Village B5385/A5 crossroads

The A5 will be closed overnight at the Watford Village B5385/A5 crossroads from Monday 23 June until Thursday 26 June, again on Saturday 28 June and Saturday 12 July for resurfacing works. The works will take place between 8pm and 6am each night.
Traffic travelling on the A5 northbound will be diverted at the A5/A45 Flore Interchange on to the A45 eastbound carriageway to M1 Junction 16. Traffic will then travel northbound on the M1 exiting at Junction 18, and then on to the A428 westbound before rejoining the A5. Southbound traffic will follow the diversion route in the opposite direction. Local access will be maintained for resident living within the closure. All other traffic will have to follow the diversions.

ONGOING - A45 Great Billing

Work to replace the worn surface of the A45 between Billing Aquadrome and Weston Favell continues and is due to be completed by Monday 30 June.
Preparatory works will take place between 8pm and 6am on weekday nights under lane closure. Resurfacing works will be undertaken within complete carriageway closures over weekends from 8pm Fridays to 6am Mondays. The Eastbound carriageway will be closed during weekends commencing Friday 6 June, and 13 June. The Westbound carriageway will be closed during weekends commencing Friday 20 June, and 27 June.

ONGOING - A5 railway bridge maintenance near Rugby and Daventry

Maintenance work on three railway bridges near Rugby and Daventry, on the A5 in Northamptonshire continues. The work affects the Brockhall, Welton and Kilsby bridges, which all carry the A5 over the West Coast mainline.
Traffic is being controlled by temporary traffic lights and is subject to a 40 mph speed restriction for the duration of the work. There will be times when the railway lines under each bridge will have to be closed overnight to enable work to be carried out safely.

ONGOING - A43 Swan Valley

Works to convert the existing single lane carriageway link road to a dual carriageway between Swan Valley Way roundabout and the northern A43 roundabout at junction 15A of the M1 continues. A temporary 40mph speed limit is in place. During the works there will be a reduction in width of the carriageway and lane closures. The works are expected to be complete in October.

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE

NEW - A1 near Ranby

Essential resurfacing work will take place on the A1 northbound at Ranby for three nights starting Monday, 23 June. The northbound carriageway will be closed between the A614 Apley Head/Five Lanes End junction and the northbound exit sliproad at Blyth. The A1 northbound entry sliproad at Ranby will also be shut. Diversion will be in place and local access will be maintained.

NEW - A46 Rail Bridge near Saxondale

Stop/go boards will be used between 6am and noon on Sunday 22 and 29 June on the A46 north of Saxondale roundabout to enable Network rail to inspect the rail bridge.

NEW - A52 Clifton Boulevard Railway Bridge

Lane one westbound will be closed just after the Dunkirk flyover from 11.30pm on 22 June until 6.30am on 23 June to enable essential structural maintenance of the bridge.

ONGOING - A52 Radcliffe-on-Trent to the Saxondale Roundabout

40mph speed restrictions and sections of 10mph convoy working will be in force on sections of the A52 on Friday 20 June and again on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 23, 24 and 25 June between 3.30am and 6am for double white line surveys.

AMENDED - A52 Radcliffe-on-Trent to Gamston

Work to resurface the A52 between Radcliffe-on-Trent and Gamston continues. The westbound carriageway will be closed between 8pm and 6am each night from Wednesday 25 June until Sunday 29 June. Signed diversion will be in place.

ONGOING - A52/A453 Clifton Bridge

Road closures to refurbish street lighting columns on the A52/A453 Clifton Bridge complex continues between 6am and 4pm on Sundays only until 27 July. Due to the nature of the work, operations will be suspended and rearranged if the wind speed is more than 25 mph at the top of the platform. During the closures signed diversions will be in place.

CAMBRIDGESHIRE

AMENDED - A1(M) Junction 17 at Peterborough

A scheme to reconstruct and resurface two slip roads at junction 17 of the A1(M) at Peterborough, Cambridgeshire began on Tuesday 6 May.
Work on the northbound entry slip at junction 17 has now been completed.
The southbound exit slip road at junction 17 will close at 6am on Wednesday 18 June and will remain closed 24 hours a day until 1am on Monday 14 July. Clearly signed diversions will be in place during the closures.
