Fairtrade Beeston

At a meeting held on 4th April representatives from local business, faith groups, Broxtowe Council and Broxtowe Councillors agreed to set up a steering committee to promote Fairtrade in Beeston.
A draft constitution and terms of reference were proposed and an updated action plan to support the aims and objectives of the Fairtrade movement was also discussed.
All businesses, schools, colleges, workplaces, faith and community organisations in the Beeston area are to be encouraged to work to promote and use Fairtrade products.
Awareness of Fairtrade and the Fairtrade Beeston campaign will be raised at local events and via local media coverage.
