Balance your diet, your life and your spending with www1click2cook.co.uk

MILLIONS of families across the UK are spending almost £1000 a year more on food than this time last year, yet at least £600 of it is destined for the bin.
Latest research reveals that the price of a shopping basket of essential food items increased by 19.1 per cent in May, and this figure looks set to increase even more. We are also throwing away hundreds of pounds of wasted food because our portion control and shopping habits are out of balance.
Gill Levett founded her website www.1click2cook.co.uk to help busy families balance their diets and their bank accounts by providing online meal and menu planners to help provide balanced, healthy and cost effective meals.
Gill, a busy working mother, said: "It's scandalous that so much food is being wasted. We all just need to plan and organise our shopping and cooking effectively. I founded the website to help busy families to plan their weekly shopping, their menus and to make life easier. I know that my own family got bored with my culinary efforts and I needed to make some changes.
"With 1click2cook, you can effortlessly re-vitalise your family's diet, receive weekly e-mails containing great personalised menus and a complete shopping list, save valuable time as there is no need to hunt through cookery books for inspiration, waste less food because you won't be making random, panic purchases, and get expert advice from our Nutritional Therapist.
"I had the idea for 1click2cook, in November 2005, after watching a very well known celebrity chef in an advert telling me not to be boring next time I went shopping and to buy something new!!
"What a thought, window shopping on a Saturday in the supermarket! As a busy Mum working full-time, I'd been cooking most evenings for 18 years and had grown to resent the time it took to find new recipes every week and then make them into a shopping list. On occasion, I'd also found myself in the supermarket on a Saturday, hoping I wouldn't see anyone I knew because my trolley had so many packet meals in it! These were an easy option after a really busy week, when I had simply run out of time to plan in advance.
I've spent the last year creating the site and having Dawn, our Nutritional Therapist, featured on the site, is another great benefit for our members.
Her no nonsense approach to nutrition has helped me to make subtle positive changes to my family's eating habits, without them realizing. I now feel very confident, that our diet includes fresh, varied and healthy food AND it's effortless!"
