Bayou Seco from New Mexico - ‘In Concert'
Bayou Seco from New Mexico , with their delicious hotpot of simmering songs and music, will perform In Concert at Chilwell Road Methodist Church, Beeston on Saturday, April 19th at 7.30 p.m. Tickets are £7 (£6 in advance), Student/Child £3, and are available from the church office - 0115 9431164
Think hillbillies and hoe-downs, cowboys and cattle trains, Cajuns, Creoles and Crawfish broils. After a scorching Winter tour Bayou Seco are back in the UK with their unique show of songs, tunes and stories from the American South.
Wielding fiddles, accordions and banjos, singing in English, French and Spanish, Jeanie McLerie and Ken Keppeler move their audience to dance, laugh and cry (sometimes all at the same time) with their inimitable blend of music and humour.
Let Bayou Seco take you on a musical journey from the bayous and prairies of Louisiana, westward over the dark and starry Texas plains, through the craggy Sangre de Cristo Mountains of New Mexico, and on into the Saguaro studded Sonora Desert of Arizona.
A Bayou Seco evening is a lively night of toe-tapping music that spans Cajun and Zydeco, Norteno (Tex-Mex), Chicken Scratch, New Mexican colonial dance tunes and cowboy songs, served heavily spiced with the hot chilli spirit of the territory. This is a rich stew of music which has been simmering for centuries.
A lively night of toe-tapping music and tales for all the family; young and old.
