National charity Beating Bowel Cancer has launched a £3 Bowel Cancer Challenge, a fundraiser for the digital age.
Mark Flannagan, Chief Executive of Beating Bowel Cancer says, "This campaign was created with Beating Bowel Cancer's online community in mind. Our online followers and friends regularly interact with our campaigns and activities. The £3 Bowel Cancer Challenge is a way of giving our supporters a project to fund and design themselves, to help raise awareness of bowel cancer and ultimately save lives."
The £3 Bowel Cancer Challenge is the first charity campaign to be both funded and designed by supporters. Beating Bowel Cancer is asking supporters to collect just £3 from at least ten friends to help raise the campaign target of £15,000. The money raised will help fund a new digital campaign to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer, the UK's second biggest cancer killer.
In addition to donations, the charity is crowdsourcing supporters to give their creative ideas for the digital campaign. The best ideas will be turned into a campaign which will run throughout Bowel Cancer Awareness Month in April 2011.
Bowel cancer is the UK's second biggest cancer killer, however, if diagnosed early bowel cancer can be cured. Raising awareness of the signs and symptoms of bowel cancer is therefore essential to save lives from bowel cancer.
