The delightful Duruflé Requiem is the main work of the concert, in which the choir will be joined by organist Richard Pearce, cellist Sara Lovell, mezzo-soprano Stephanie Allman and baritone John Broad. Richard will also display his virtuoso talents in the 1st movement of Widor's Symphonie No.5 as well as accompanying the choir in the wonderfully exciting Messe Solennelle by Jean Langlais.
Completing the programme will be two beautiful a capella works: Poulenc's Quatre motets pour un temps de pénitence (Four Lenten motets) and Messiaen's only liturgical choral work: O sacrum convivium.
Tickets (£11 - £18) are available from Taunton TIC: 01823 336344, or book online at the choir website: www.somersetchamberchoir.org.uk
