Join the Commando Shuffle for Fire Fighter and Royal Marines’ Charity Trust

The 999 Commando Challenge is back again this year under the new name "The Commando Shuffle" and teams are invited to take part in this challenging but enjoyable walk, which takes place on Saturday 1 October, 2011.
The event is 30 miles of pride and pain through Dartmoor National Park, with the option to carry 32lbs of kit (not including water). The event follows the route of the Royal Marines final Commando Test, the "30 miler", and is run by serving and former Royal Marines Commandos, who are there to encourage, as well as put teams through their paces on one of the most gruelling military courses in the western world!
Last year's event was a huge success with both the Fire Fighter's Charity and the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund receiving £2000 each from the event, as well as the charitable donations, the event was greatly enjoyed by all of the 88 participants from emergency services across the country.
This year's event takes place on the 1st October and promises to be just as much fun and excitement with a few changes to the line up:
- two nights accommodation or camping at the Dartmoor Training Centre (Friday 31 September, 1 October)
- transport from HQ/Dartmoor Training Centre (also the finish point) to the start
- presentation night social event with bar at the centre on the evening of Saturday.
