Mencap: Learning Disability Awareness Week

Learning Disability Week is a national awareness week run by Mencap every year. It is a great chance to get involved in raising awareness about the issues that are important to people with a learning disability and their families and carers.
What is the theme for Learning Disability Week 2007?
Children and young people with a learning disability should be able to enjoy life and take part in their community without being scared of bullying.
Bullying has a devastating effect on children's lives, making them scared to go to school, make friends and take part in out-of-school activities. This stops children with a learning disability from living full lives.
Mencap wants children and adults to take action against bullying.
