General Election Voting Survey
| Published: 5th May 2010 09:31 |
AboutMyArea Editor was out and about yesterday (Tuesday) asking the people in the area just two questions: 1) Have you decided to vote? 2) Have you decided whom to vote for?
The results:
- Over 82% of people asked had already decided to vote (this figure was made up of both local voters and visitors).
- 20% of that vote have not made up their minds whom to vote for.
- 0f the 17% who were not prepared to vote at all, we identified two different bodies of opinion. 1) Not interested in politics; 2) Disillusioned in politicians.
We have added the same survey here for our on-line readers. Please see below.
Still Undecided?
If you haven't made up your mind yet, here's something that could help you relate to the party whom you most agree with.
ITV have created a spin-free tool to help you look at the policies without too much of the presentation. Simply choose 7 issues important to you, and decide on which statement most closely reflects your view. It takes about two minutes and gives fascinating results. www.whogetsmyvote.com
Decided not to vote?
Do you know that by not voting gives the political elite the idea that you don't care? ......
Are you aware that by spoiling a ballot paper shows you do care, but the choice given is not what you want? Think about that one!
AboutMyArea retains the policy of total neutrality. We do, however, urge you to use your right to vote.
In West Somerset we have a choice of 7 candidates:
Butt Philip, Theo - Liberal Democrat
Cudlipp, Bob - Independent
Graham, Charles - Green Party
Hollings, Peter - UKIP
Liddell-Granger, Ian - Conservative
Pearce, Kathy - Labour
Treanor, Donna - BNP
