Seaward Way clean-up 2008
| Published: 28th July 2008 18:30 |
Youngsters at Seaward Way worked hard to clean-up litter on their estate. Skips provided by Magna West Somerset and Knightstone Housing were used to clear away residents' rubbish.
Over 20 refuse bags were filled with litter helping the young members take pride in the area they live.
Young people and adult volunteers of the Dreamscheme project at Stoney Furlong, Taunton, together with officers from the safer stronger neighbourhoods team at Taunton, also came to help for the day, giving an opportunity for those involved to swap ideas and tips.
As a reward for the children of both estates for their hard work, a barbeque was organised by Seaward Way volunteers and the local Police Neighbourhood beat team, followed by a trip to Minehead beach to paddle and play games.
The Neighbourhhod Policing Team, together with residents, Youth Service and Housing Associations are currently planning activities for the summer holidays, ensuring that the Dreamscheme philosophy of working together to help the community is key.'
