On Saturday May 24th 2008 children and Dreamscheme volunteers Debbie Fitzpatrick and Barbara Seacombe took part in another litter pick in the MUGA in Sandpiper Close, this was to tidy up the area again and for the young people to earn valuable points towards their next trip of their choice..........
....a trip to Crealy leisure park, near Exmouth.
This trip took place during May half term, on Tuesday 27th May, 2 minibuses full of children, volunteers and 2 parent volunteers set off to Crealy.
A fun filled day was had by all, with the favourite activity being the indoor huge play area ..... including a death slide!

Some of the girls enjoyed the water log flume ride, with Debbie one of the volunteers getting soaked with water before the ride set off, as the attendant decided to throw water over her!!

One of the volunteers, Rachel was pushed from the top of the death slide, not an experience she enjoyed or would do again, but did earn ‘respect' from the young people for giving it a go !
The day ended with an ice cream and songs being sung on the mini bus on the way home......
Youth Club continues on a Tuesday night at the Vennland's Centre, with the Youth Service kindly running this, due to other volunteer's commitments. This is run by 2 experienced youth workers, Claire Chapel and Jayne Healy, with the help of Paul Matcham.
This is for 10 years olds and over and all types of activities are undertaken.
Volunteers Debbie Fitzpatrick and Barbara Seacombe are running a mini youth club on a Tuesday night for the under 10‘s, this will be based around craft activities and team games!!
On Tuesday 17th June 2008, the Avon & Somerset Police hosted the 2008 Neighbourhood Watch Awards; Debbie Fitzpatrick was nominated for an award by Beat Manager Pc Steve Cutler.
She was 1 of 12 winners across the force area and won the Youth Award and was presented with her award by Assistant Rod Hansen at a presentation ceremony at Police HQ.
