Recycling Boost for West Somerset Businesses
| Published: 12th January 2010 10:02 |

Somerset Waste Partnership (SWP) has joined forces with BREW (Business Resource Efficiency and Waste) to help Somerset businesses put profits back in their pockets and protect the environment by recycling more.
Landfill taxes are increasing year on year and the economy is still sluggish, so it is more important than ever for West Somerset businesses to save money by reducing, reusing or recycling their waste.
Helen Ridler, SWP's new Business Recycling Advisor explained: "I can give impartial advice on setting up recycling collections, finding a suitable recycling contractor and also provide pointers on reducing waste and finding alternative solutions such as waste prevention and reuse.
"It is possible to make small cost-free or low-cost changes that can make big savings. Other quick wins can be made to save money on energy and water costs too. I want to build good relationships with the business community, to show that with the right advice doing the right thing for the environment and helping the bottom line go hand in hand."
