Water-bombers terrorise tourists at Porlock Weir

The peace and tranquillity which makes Porlock Weir one of the favourite destinations for visitors throughout the world was broken earlier this week by a group of local youths.
The youths targeted members of the public using two cars from which they hurled water bombs directly at the visitors.
The first assault was from a silver car which pulled up next to a woman believed to be from the Midlands. After the attack the car sped away leaving the woman drenched and shaken. The woman was comforted by the owner of the Harbour Store and the police were called.

Helen Caddick, of the Harbour Store said: "It's all very well to think that throwing water bombs can be funny, but it must be very frightening if you're the target and not expecting to be attacked." She continued: "The woman was understandably distressed, and told me that while she wouldn't be surprised with that sort of thing happening back home she had never expected such a thing happening at Porlock Weir." The unnamed woman who has been a regular visitor to the area also admitted that after the incident she would think twice before returning to Porlock Weir.
This first assault was so unexpected that the incident could have gone without much attention from others at the Weir. However, the youths followed the first attack in a red car and hurled more water bombs, this time at a couple from France. An eyewitness was able to take down the number plate of the car and from this the police have been able to identify those involved and steps have been taken to reprimand them.
