Saturday 22nd November 2008 : Minehead 1 Lonowell Green Sports 3
Report by: Tony Corrick
Minehead made a bright start and after only five minutes Aaron Deekes tested the visitor's keeper. Six minutes later Simon Lyons gave the Blues the lead when he burst through on the left and his low shot went into the net off an upright.
The visitor's struggled to find any cohesion but after 26 minutes they went close when substitute Chris Churchill saw his close range effort turned over the crossbar by Chris Meredith and it required a fine tackle by Mike Mullen to deny Neil Rosslee a scoring opportunity.
Just minutes before half time Lonowell Green equalized when Dave Parwell headed home a well flighted cross.
Coming out after the interval the visitors took control of the game and after 51 minutes they went ahead when Parwell scored his second goal from an unmarked position.

Minehead were now second fiddle to their high flying opponents and it was no surprise when they went further behind in the 66th minute. Lyons, who was having a fine game, handled the ball in the penalty area and substitute Churchill scored from the penalty spot.
Having brought on all three substitutes the visitors continued to look the better team and seemed content to hold onto their two goal lead.
The Blues have now gone twelve games without a win and facing four consecutive away matches they remain in the relegation zone.
