Running for Fun for Beginners
| Published: 30th October 2008 15:53 |

People wishing to get fitter before the festive season - and possibly hoping to shed a few pounds afterwards - can enjoy a 12 week Running for Fun course which starts on Thursday, November 6, at the Sports and Leisure Centre in Minehead.
The weekly evening fun run, which is funded through the Active Somerset project whose local partners are West Somerset Council and the Somerset PCT, is for those who wish to start getting fit in a friendly social environment.
Paul Harwood from Somerset PCT, said, "Exercising at this level is enjoyable and brings benefits to the heart, lungs and to health in general. Running in groups is more fun than running alone promoting good mental health, and the social aspect means people are more likely to stay the course."
6th November 2008 - 29th Jaunuary 2009
Every Thursday from 6.30pm to 7.30pm
The weekly sessions cost £1.20.
