Reductions on standard rover ticket fares for advanced sales for West Somerset Railway Winter Steam Festival
The West Somerset Railway's Winter Steam Festival will take place on Saturday December 29th and Sunday December 30th this year and will feature at least 4 steam locomotives from the resident WSR fleet (6960 "Raveningham Hall", 7828 "Norton Manor", "Large Prairie" 4160, "Mogul" 9351, "2884" Class 3850, and SDJR 7F 88) in action.
As usual normal WSR fares apply rather than those for other special events and discounts will apply for Rover tickets (both 1 and 2 Day) ordered in advance by December 18th. Advance orders can be made via 01643 704996 with a credit/debit card or through the Railway's website at www.west-somerset-railway.co.uk .
Trains will depart from each end of the line at hourly intervals between 09.45 and 15.45.
"Driver for a Fiver" will once again run at Minehead station during both days whilst at the Bishops Lydeard end the Taunton Model Railway Group will have their club room open. The Diesel and Electric Preservation Group will be welcoming visitors to their Depot and Heritage Centre at Williton.
West Somerset steam trains will also operate on December 27th, 28th and 31st and January 1st and 2nd.
