7, January 2008


• On New Year's Day between 01.00 and 11.00 a moped was stolen from a residence in Minehead and later recovered by Police. Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 3565 Potter at Minehead Police Station.

• Damage was caused to a motor vehicle in Williton on New Year's Day between 13.00 and 17.30 hours

• Overnight on December 31st a motor vehicle in Porlock was damaged.


• A rucksack was stolen from a motor vehicle parked and unattended on the Minehead Industrial Estate between 10.30 and 10.45 hours on December 31st.

• Garden Christmas fairy lights were damaged in a Williton garden overnight on December 30th

• Fencing to a property in The Parks area of Minehead was damaged overnight 3rd / 4th January 2009.

• A motor vehicle parked in Minehead was damaged overnight 4th / 5th January 2009.

PC 4113 Trimmings is asking for people to come forward following an incident between two groups of people on January 1st 2009 between 02.00 and 02.30 in Watchet in the area of Swain Street and South Road. He can be contacted at Minehead Police Station on 0845 456 7000.

• A Marin mountain cycle was stolen overnight from a Minehead residence on January 4th / 5th.

Arrests

• A 20 year old male was arrested and charged to attend at Taunton Deane Magistrates Court on January 22nd following a public order offence on New Year's Day


• A male from Bristol was seen on Minehead seafront on New Year's Day and warned about his behaviour. He ignored the officers and was duly arrested. When he was sober he was issued with a Police caution.

• An 18 year old male was arrested on January 4th for drink driving and found to be over the legal limit, he was released on Police bail until a date in February.

 

31, December 2008

• A handbag was stolen when left momentarily within a retail premises at Butlin's on Boxing Day - the bag was later found but the cash had been stolen.

• A vehicle at Wheddon Cross was damaged by unknown means overnight Dec 26 and 27 Police are appealing for anyone with any information to contact them.

• A handbag was stolen from an unattended motor vehicle parked at a beauty spot on Exmoor on Saturday December 27th between 16:30 and 17:00 hours. Car owners are reminded NOT to leave any valuables on display within their unattended vehicles

• A bag was stolen from an unattended mobility scooter parked outside The Red Cross Shop in Minehead on December 27th. The ruscksack was cut from the scooter and anyone with any information regarding this theft to contact PC 2638 Cutler.

• Unknown person(s) have stolen a handbag and contents from within the locker room at the swimming pool within Butlin's on Sunday December 28th between 09.00 and 10.00 hrs.

• On December 28th 2008 a male was ejected from a Minehead public house and became abusive to officers and was warned under the Section 27 and banned from the area for 24 hours

• On December 29th person(s) unknown have forced a padlock to a disused compound within Butlin's. Entry was gained but nothing stolen.

• Tyres to a parked motor vehicle in Dulverton were damaged by unknown means overnight on December 19th 2008.

• A taxi windscreen was damaged by unknown means when a missile was hurled at it on December 29th in the early evening in Minehead.

• Damage was caused to a motorcycle when it was pushed off its stand when parked overnight in Minehead on December 29th.

Arrests

• Two males were apprehended and arrested for having broken into a slot machine within Butlin's on December 29th - both later released without charge as the cash was recovered.

• A male and female were arrested following a theft from a public house in Williton. Both released on Police Bail for further enquiries.

• A female was arrested in the early hours of December 30th for breach of the peace at an address in Minehead. She was allowed to sober up within the confines of the cells and later released without charge.

• A male was arrested for fraud and false representation on December 30th and released on Police Bail until mid February for enquiries to be made.

• Two £80 fixed penalty notices issued to two males following the dispersal of a fire extinguisher at a retail premises in Minehead on December 21st.

• Two males were arrested on December 27th for an attempted robbery at a retail premises at Alcombe on December 20th 2008. Both have been released on conditional Police Bail.

• Two females were arrested for shop lifting on December 27th - one has been released without charge and the other has been released on Police Bail.

• A female was arrested and charged to appear before Taunton Deane Magistrates Court on January 14th after she threatened shop staff in Alcombe.

• On Boxing Day a male was arrested for repeatedly breaching his Police Bail and he was transported directly to the Taunton Magistrates Court on the same day.

• A male was arrested on Boxing Day following a dispute at Winsford and has been charged to appear before Magistrates at Bridgwater in early January.

 

23, December 2008

• Between 20:00 17/12/08 & 02:30 18/12/08 entry was forced to a staff room at West Somerset Community College and the offender stole a Toshiba lap top computer and a digital camera. PC Overall at Minehead police station would like anyone with information to contact him.

• At about 04:20 18/12/08 several buses were damaged at Brunel Way, Minehead, when an offender made an unsuccessful attempt to start these. Police at Minehead at Minehead police station would like anyone with information to contact them.

• Overnight 18-19/12/08 three outbuildings in the Treborough area were forcibly entered. At one a Grey Nissan Terrano was stolen and at another the offenders stole specialist medical optical equipment, garden power tools and two bikes. Together these are valued at £20,500. Police are linking these offences and PC Dinham at Wiiliton police station would like anyone with information to contact him.

• Between 00:15 & 08:00 21/12/08 a house in Doniford Rd, Watchet, was forcibly entered and a large amount of property was stolen to the value of £1,250, this included Xbox 360, 37" plasma television, clothing, and other Christmas gift items. A second property at Mariners Way, Watchet, was similarly entered and here the offenders stole an EEE Pc100 Laptop and cash. Police at Wiiliton police station would like anyone with information to contact them.

• At about 07:35 18/12/08 a 13yrs old female was walking at South park, Minehead, when she was approached by a male who initially asked her the time. He then dropped his trousers exposing himself. PC Strachan at Minehead police station would like anyone with information to contact him.

• Overnight 20-21/12/08 at Maglands Rd Watchet a silver Sym DD50 moped was stolen and at St Peters Close, Williton, entry was forced to a white Ford Escort and an unsuccessful attempt was made to start the vehicle by forcing the ignition, then at North Croft, Williton, a Maroon Ford Orion was stolen but the offenders abandoned this some 100yds away. Again on the same night at Larviscombe Rd, Williton a white Ford Fiesta was stolen, and this was found when it collided into two parked cars at Quarry Close, Minehead. Police at Wiiliton police station would like anyone with information to contact them.

 On 17/12/08 the remains of about 300 pheasants were found dumped in Beckway Wood, Luxborough, Watchet, and all had their breasts removed. Then on 22/12/08 a further 75 birds were similarly found in a field gateway near Roadwater. Sgt Andy Whysall at Dulverton Police Station said "We were contacted by the Crown Estate as they were very concerned about what had been found. These dead birds could also pose a possible health risk to those visiting and using this area. I would warn anyone of the dangers of accepting meat such as this from anywhere other than a recognised source"


Arrests

• At 16:00 21/12/08 officers from Williton Police Station were carrying out a speed check on the A39 at Tower Hill, when they stopped a 55yrs old male who failed a road side breath test. He was arrested and later charged with an offence of excess alcohol.

• At 01:05 21/12/08 police were called to the Wellington Hotel, where a 20yrs old female was arrested after she had thrown a glass which damaged the glazed bar. She was later cautioned for this offence.

• At 02:15 20/12/08 officers were on patrol at Wellington Square when they saw an 18yrs old male throw a glass at a tree. He was arrested for being drunk and disorderly and later dealt with by means of a fixed penalty fine.

• At 00:50 19/12/08 officers from Minehead received a report of youths throwing stones and a window was smashed at Park St. They arrested a 17yrs old male nearby and he was bailed to return to the station at a later date.

 

17, December 2008

At about 22:00 11/12/08 a window was smashed after someone threw a piece of masonry at a house in Lower Meadow Rd, Minehead, PC Strachan at Minehead Police Station would like anyone with information to contact him.

Between 06:00 & 12:50 13/12/08 someone smashed a 6" X 8" window of a ground floor flat at Bancks St, Minehead. Police at Minehead Police Station would like anyone with information to contact them.

At about 23:55 13/12/08 an elderly and disabled gentleman living in Quay St, Minehead, also had a ground floor window smashed. PC Darch at Minehead Police Station would like anyone with information to contact him.

Between 19:00 & 22:40 10/12/08 a detached property at Bossington, was forcibly entered and the offenders stole cash, bank and other personal cards. PC Locke at Minehead Police Station would like anyone with information to contact him.

Between 14:30 10/12/08 & 08:00 11/12/08 a holiday home at Porlock Weir was forcibly entered, however the offender left empty handed. PS Wilkinson at Taunton Police Station would like anyone with information to contact her

Overnight 14/12/08 & 15/12/08 two holiday homes at Bury were forcibly entered and two outbuildings at another property were also forcibly entered, the offender stole bottles of wine. Police at Dulverton Police Station would like anyone with information to contact them.

Between 17:00 11/12/08 & 08:45 12/12/08 a shed set in a remote location at Willett was forcibly entered and a grey SIP welder valued at £100 was stolen. Undoubtedly a vehicle was used to remove this welder and Police at Williton Police Station would like anyone with information to contact them.

Arrests

• On 14/12/08 several youths went to the Roadwater Village Hall and whilst there stole alcohol. This was reported to the police who on 15/12/08 arrested three youths aged 16yrs, 15yrs & 14yrs were arrested for burglary. All were later reprimanded for this offence.

• At 14:05 14/12/08 a 16yrs old male entered the Co-op store, Minehead and took sandwiches and sweets from the display before attempting to leave without paying. He was detained and arrested by police. He was bailed to return to the station at a later date.

 

10, December 2008

• Between 21:00 5/12/08 & 09:00 6/12/08 a silver Mitsubishi Shogun had its wing mirror damaged whilst parked outside the Moorland hall, Wheddon Cross and the security light and signs above the door of the Hall were also damaged. PC Curran at Minehead Police Station would like anyone with information to contact him.

• Between 17:00 5/12/08 & 08:00 6/12/08 a shed and office at West Luccombe was forcibly entered, however nothing appears to have been taken. PC Strachan at Minehead Police Station would like anyone with information to contact him.

• Between 17:30 2/12/08 & 09:30 3/12/08 an Ifor Williams trailer was taken from a field at Pardlestone Lane, Kilve and left in a gateway nearby, probably for collection by the offender later. Police at Williton Police Station would like anyone with information to contact them.

• Between 19:30 & 19:35 6/12/08 a bungalow at North Rd, Williton had the front bay window damaged when a stone or similar missile was thrown at it. The cost of the damage is expected to be £200 and police at Williton Police Station would like anyone with information to contact them.

• Between 18:30 8/12/08 & 07:30 9/12/08 two coaches that had been parked at Station Rd, Williton, were attacked and diesel to the value of approximately £500 was stolen from the tanks. Police at Williton Police Station would like anyone with information to contact them.

• About 19:40 9/12/08 at Anchor St, Watchet, a 14yrs old boy was assaulted when he was approached by a male who after a brief conversation punched him in the head three times. The offender then got into a purple Ford car which contained another female and drove off. The victim sustained bruising and damage to his headphones. Police at Williton Police Station would like anyone with information to contact them.


Arrests

• At 23:00 5/12/08 a 16yrs old youth was arrested following an incident at Blenheim Rd where a 20yrs old male was assaulted and suffered a broken nose. The youth was bailed to return to the station at a later date.

• At 01:23 6/12/08 officers from Minehead stopped a teenage girl and were attempting to return her home when another 16yrs old tried to obstruct the officers. She was arrested for a breach of the peace and later returned to the custody of her father.

• At 09:12 6/12/08 officers from Minehead stopped a 70yrs old male driver at Warren Rd, and here he failed a road side breath test. He was taken to Minehead police station where after further tests he was bailed to return to the station at a later date.

• At 19:00 8/12/08 officers attended the Rose Garden, Minehead, where following a report of two teenagers stealing alcohol from The Tesco store they arrested a 16yrs and an 18yrs old male. Both were bailed to return to the station at a later date.

 

3, December 2008

• At 11:14 28/11/08 at Martlett Rd, Minehead, a 66yrs old male was assaulted by a 61yrs old male following an argument over a parking place. The victim sustained minor facial injuries. PC Overall at Minehead Police Station would like anyone who witnessed this or has information to contact him.

• Between 04:30 & 05:00 30/11/08 a caravan at Butlins was forcibly entered and clothing stolen. The offender then set light to this property outside and dangerously close to the caravan. PC Trimmings would like anyone with information to contact him.

• Between 1/11/08 & 29/11/08 a boat stored in a shed at Watchet Harbour Marine had the silver 5hp Honda engine stolen along with a fish finder, chart plotter, radio, life jacket and petrol tanks. The total value of the items is £1965 and PC Lisa Rigby at Williton police station would like anyone with information to contact her.

• Overnight 21-22/11/08 a grey Land Rover Freelander was attacked at Northmoor Rd, Dulverton, when an object was used to scratch the entire length of the vehicles panels on one side. PC Adams at Dulverton Police Station would like anyone with information to contact her.

• Between 21:00 1/12/08 & 08:00 2/12/08 a purple BMW had all four tyres slashed whilst parked at St Decumens Rd, Watchet. PC Lisa Rigby at Williton Police Station would like anyone with information to contact her.

Arrests

• At 02:05 30/11/08 following an earlier incident at Watchet Hill where a 15yrs old male was assaulted resulting in him having a broken nose, three males aged between 16 & 18yrs were arrested. All three were bailed to return to the station at a later date.

• At 00:59 30/11/08 officers stopped a vehicle at Mallard Rd, Minehead, after it had been seen being driven erratically. The 27yrs old male driver failed a breath test at the scene and was arrested. He was later charged with excess alcohol.

• At 23:00 29/11/08 the 22yrs old male driver of a vehicle stopped on the old A39 near Minehead was approached by officers and found to have slurred speech and unsteady on his feet. The officers arrested the male for being drunk in charge of a vehicle and shortly after discovered he was also in possession of a small amount of cannabis. He was bailed to return to the station at a later date.

• At 23:36 27/11/08 a Rover motor car was seen being driven erratically along the A39 and was stopped after hitting the kerb. The driver was arrested and later charged with offences of excess alcohol and no insurance.

• At 14:55 27/11/08 a 19yrs old male was arrested for an offence of wasting police time after he made several mobile phone calls to police that resulted in armed officers attending an address in Minehead. The male was later dealt with by means of a Fixed Penalty Notice.

• At 15:30 1/12/08 a 35yrs old female was arrested from a telephone kiosk at Wheddon Cross having made abusive 999 calls. She was bailed to return to the station at a later date.

• At 20:38 1/12/08 officers from Minehead executed a warrant at an address in Plover Close and recovered a quantity of cannabis, white powder and vegetable matter. A 49yrs old female was arrested in connection with this and bailed to return to the station at a later date.

 

26, November 2008

• Between 14/11/08 & 21/11/08 at least nine caravans at Warren Bay Caravan Park were forcibly entered. There was evidence that the suspect had slept in at least one of these caravans and it is yet to be established what has been stolen. Officers at Williton police station would like anyone with information to contact them.

• During the morning of 21/11/08 a house at Tolland was forcibly entered and jewellery and bank cards were stolen to the value of £18,275. PC Jeffrey at Wellington Police station would like anyone with information to contact him.

• About 17:00hrs 22/11/08 a male entered a painting gallery at Friday St, Minehead, and engaged the shopkeeper in conversation, whilst the suspect and victim moved to the back of the store a second person is believed to have entered and stole £132 cash from the till. The male suspect is described as white, approx 40yrs, large build wearing what looked like a green tweed shooting jacket. PC Laramy at Minehead police station would like anyone with information to contact him.

• About 15:25 25/11/08 a 42yrs old male was pheasant beating in the area of Wood lane, Stogumber, when he was approached by another male. There was a brief heated exchange of words and the victim was struck to the side of the head which knocked him unconscious. The victim was found shortly after by a two women who were passing in a vehicle and was taken to hospital but later discharged. PC Horn at Williton police station would like anyone with information to contact him.


Arrests

• At 19:40 23/11/08 at Wheddon Cross a 35yrs old female was arrested for misuse of the 999 telephone system following a series of calls made from a mobile phone during a six week period. She was bailed to return to the station at a later date.

• At 02:00 23/11/08 officers stopped a Peugeot motor car which had been driven erratically along Seaward way, Minehead. The 27yrs old male provided a positive breath test and was arrested. He was later charged with an offence of excess alcohol.

• At 01:15 23/11/08 officers approached a 44yrs old male who was urinating in the street at Quay lane, Minehead. When challenged he became aggressive and was arrested for being drunk and disorderly. He was dealt with by means of a Fixed Penalty Notice.

• At 16:25 20/11/08 a Vauxhall Corsa drove away from Tesco service station, Minehead, having failed to pay for £15 worth of petrol. The 48yrs old driver was located, arrested and later bailed to return to the station at a later date.

 

19, November 2008

• Between 18:00 17/11/08 & 08:00 18/11/08 a shed at Roadwater was forcibly entered and power tools to the value of £579 were stolen. Police at Dulverton police station would like anyone with information to contact them.

• Between 18:00 16/11/08 & 06:00 17/11/08 outbuildings at an address in Roadwater was forcibly entered and a wacker plate compactor was stolen. PC Holdsworth at Williton police station would like anyone with information to contact him.

• On the morning 18/11/08 a house at St Decumans Rd, Watchet, was entered and the keys to a silver Ford Escort was stolen, the offender then used the keys to steal the vehicle from the driveway. Police at Williton police station would like anyone with information to contact them.

• Between 8/11/08 & 16/11/08 approximately £500 worth of oil was stolen from a tank in the garden of a property at West Quantoxhead. Police at Williton police station would like anyone with information to contact them.

• Between 22:00 15/11/08 & 05:45 16/11/08 a window of the Coop at Williton was damaged by what is thought to be an air pellet. Police at Williton police station would like anyone with information to contact them.

 

12, November 2008

• At 07:14 10/11/08 at Irnham Rd, Minehead, a 14yrs old female was followed by a male who held open the top of his trousers exposing himself. The description of suspect is white male, about 38yrs, 5'6", slight build, cropped brown hair, round face and wearing dark waist length rain coat, dark green baggy trousers, and black boots. DC Fudge would like anyone with information to contact him.

• Between 12:15 & 13:00 11/11/08 a 36yrs old mother was in the conservatory of the Hairy Dog Ph, Minehead, and whilst feeding her son, her purse containing bank cards and cash was stolen from inside a bag attached to the pushchair. Police at Minehead would like anyone with information to contact them.

Arrests

• Overnight 7th & 8th October a white Vauxhall was stolen from New Rd, Carhampton, and reported to the police. Following enquiries a 15yrs old male was identified and at 14:50 9/11/08 police arrested him. He was bailed to return to the station at a later date.

• At 02:22 9/11/08 police attended a road traffic incident when a Kia motor car crashed into a ditch at Seaward Way, Minehead. The officers attended the scene and arrested a 19yrs old female and a 21yrs old male on suspicion of stealing the car. She was later cautioned and he was charged with excess alcohol and driving without insurance.

• On 24/10/08 an assault occurred at Swain St, Watchet, and this was reported to the police. As a result of enquiries at 16:10 6/11/08 a 15yrs old male was arrested and later reprimanded for this offence.

• At 01:20 8/11/08 at Warren Rd, Minehead, officers spoke to a 20yrs old male who smelt of cannabis. The male produced when questioned a small amount cannabis bush and was later cautioned for possessing this.

• On 10/11/08 police attended Conygar View, Dunster where a 32yrs old male was arrested in connection with a Breach of the Peace. He was later found to have a small amount of cannabis concealed in his shoe and was cautioned for this offence.
