Check your speed - before they do!

Officers from the special constabulary have been engaged in the last month since being trained with speed checks in various areas of West Somerset including,
Williton, Watchet, Kilve, Holford, Blue Anchor, Minehead, Porlock, Washford.
During that time over 100 motorists have been stopped and advised regarding their speeds this includes the issuing of fixed penalties with fines and points issued at the roadside for offences, and referrals to "Operation Taboo" a scheme where a fine is paid and upon attendance and completion of a road safety course the driver receives no points on their license. The special constabulary aim to continue the speed checks in the area as well as their normal policing duties in support of neighborhood policing.
