Inspector Carol Pearce: Minehead is one of the safest towns in the country
| Published: 12th June 2008 10:19 |
West Somerset sector Commander, Inspector Carol Pearce would remind residents that they live and work in one of the safest towns in the country, with only about 1,800 crimes a year from an area covering 440 square miles and crime continues to fall.
All calls of anti social behaviour are responded to at the time if appropriate or later followed up.
Since the introduction of the Neighbourhood policing this year the local beat teams have successfully engaged their communities who have responded well with information into criminal activity, and supported local activities.
A number of successful Pub Watch schemes have also been introduced and the licencees have worked hard in partnership with the police to improve the quality of life for patrons and residents alike. The local team are working hard in partnership with other services and residents and hope to maintain this improvement.
