The first ever Holway Local Action Team's fete at the YMCA on Saturday 12th July 2008 went extremely well and was lucky with the weather, come rain or shine.
Greeted and opened by Taunton Deane Mayor and Mayoress Cllr Tim and Gill Slattery.

The Mayor of Taunton who has taken part with the Treasure map made by AboutMyArea editor Jamie and drawn by local children from Holway Park Community School by picking a number from the bag for where the treasure chest would be hidden on the map. Locals have to put coloured dots on their chosen spot to guess where the hidden treasure is, on the map.

The Treasure map child winner was Mountfields/Killams resident Chloe Phillips age 4, who has chosen to put her coloured dot at the nearest designated area of the map. Chloe is pictured with AboutMyArea site editor Karen holding a treasure map.

This was proving popular with boys who wanted to win a football and branded goalkeeping gloves.

Poor PCSO Tony Wearmouth had a good soaking from the locals even his colleague SGT Andy Murphy who threw wet sponges at him in the stocks! This was proving popular as the locals who find it's very amusing.
Sadly Tony is leaving the Holway area to do his duties elsewhere, we wish him all the best of luck.
