Personal Safety at Local School

Local police this month supported a 'Personal Health and Safety Week' at Cotford St Luke Primary School.
PCSO Susan Thompson and Kings Cycles gave safety checks on the children's bicycles, as well as explaining the dangers of faulty brakes and understanding tyre pressures.
Each child went home with a check-list of any issues with their bicycles, so that their parents and guardians became aware of any necessary alterations required to keep their children safe.
PCSO Thompson and PCSO Tony Wearmouth also gave a Road Safety talk to younger age groups, including a focus on safe places to cross, how to negotiate pedestrian crossings and general road safety.
PCSO Thompson said: "This was a really worthwhile exercise, as all the children really enjoyed themselves and learnt how they can keep themselves safe at the same time.
"We work regularly with schools in the area to build strong relationships with the local children and their teachers."
