The Avon and Somerset Police Community Trust has arranged a charity golf day at The Players Club, Codrington - just off Junction 18 of the M4 - with registration from 9am and tee-off at 10am on Thursday May 15 2008.
For just £200 for a team of four, to include course fees and refreshment, players can take part in 18 holes of golf and course competitions on this championship fairway.
Those who show their prowess on the course stand to win prizes including Bristol Blue Glass, vouchers for the pro shop and a golfing day for four at The Players plus champagne and presentation wine boxes
Entrants will also see a golf trick show by Paul 'The Striker' Barrington and a stunning aerial display during the afternoon by the Rolls Royce Merlin Spitfire.
Players will able to enter a raffle with prizes including a week's golfing holiday for four people at an exclusive Spanish resort, a luxury hamper, pink champagne and a selection of fine wine.
All the money raised for the Trust from the event will go towards crime prevention initiatives by helping local communities improve their safety - providing locks and extra security for older and vulnerable people through the Bobby Van scheme; providing safe play areas for children and giving high visibility waistcoats to schools and children's groups to help keep youngsters safe on the roads.
Trust Manager Paul Lillington said: "We are very grateful to the support given to this event by our sponsors and those who have generously donated prizes. Last year's golf day raised £3,500 for community projects around the Avon and Somerset Constabulary area and our target is to beat that total this year."
