Welcome to the local interactive website run by Karen and Jamie. We have lived in Taunton all our lives and have three grown up children.
We wanted a job that both benefited the community and was something that we were passionate about doing...and hey presto AboutMyArea was born!
AboutMyArea is a web based community ‘one stop shop' for what goes on in your area. We are community focused and run our areas on a postcode basis.
In October 2006, for the first community website of its kind, launched to the Internet world for AboutMyArea TA1 & TA2 area.
Local Action Team
Jamie is a member for Holway LAT's (Local Action Team) and has helped with the online & offline survey with AboutMyArea. Jamie volunteered to do the LAT's Newsletters on a quarterly basis for the Holway area full of updates with what the LAT's have done and what's happening in the next few months.
Local Businesses
On a last note, we would like to congratulate those local businesses that advertise on these websites and support the local communities by doing so. Their contribution enables us to keep you up to date and also allows your community to benefit from the services we provide, so please ‘click' on their adverts to see what they have of interest to you. Don't feel shy about telling them you saw their ad on AboutMyArea and congratulate them on their community spirit and support.
Branded car
You may see one of us revving about in the Taunton area and in the Southwest in our branded car. This is helping to promote the brand awareness and local businesses that supported us through AboutMyArea.
