An advent calendar offering safety tips, ideas and an opportunity to win a Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit is available for people wanting to count down to Christmas.

During December visitors to the Avon and Somerset Constabulary website will be greeted with 24 festive-themed messages - one each day in the run-up to Christmas. There will be a surprise behind each door including crime prevention tips on everything from getting home safely from Christmas parties to making sure gifts are properly marked in case they are stolen.
There will be videos exploring how units such as the dog section will be spending their Christmas at work and a look back at the high-profile operations from 2008.
Chance to win a Wii and Wii Fit
Behind some of the windows will be crime-related quiz questions. Answer a question correctly and your name will be entered into a competition to win one of 2008's must-have presents - a Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit.
Scott Fulton, the eServices Manager said: "Last year the advent calendar was incredibly popular with thousands of people picking up safety tips and learning more about their police service. The information is delivered in a fun and bite-size package which takes only a couple of minutes to view each day. It is a good opportunity to have a daily dose of fun and maybe even win that Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit!"
