According to health experts, a new website could knock 4,000 calories off your weekly shop - which for a family of four is a saving of 1,000 calories each. Shoppers can tot up and compare the calories in a range of supermarket ready meals and snacks on The Health Checker - pioneered by mySupermarket.co.uk - the first online service that gives nutritional information about products from lasagne and curry to crisps and ice-cream. And once it's counted your calories it suggests a healthier alternative you can buy so you can save pounds on the scales.
This fantastic new 'real time' wizard also compares the 50 top products at the leading supermarkets including Sainsbury's, Tesco and Asda, making sure you get a better price for your trolley!
All you have to do is select your supermarket and then enter the products - although it can only do one store at a time.
Once you've finished shopping, the site will add up the calories in the foods you would have chosen and the savings you could make if you go with their alternatives.
