Garden Advice by Martin Horne
Hello,I'm Martin Horne and I plan to bring you the occasional article relating to gardening and I hope that you will enjoy reading the material.
Some years ago, when I was made redundant, I decided that I would like to make a career in gardening. My wife said that the furrows disappeared from my brow as soon as I set foot in the garden. This is indeed true, as I can think of no more therapeutic pursuit than gardening.
I studied at Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) for whom I now teach Royal Horticultural Society Certificate courses. My practical training was at the idyllic National Trust Gardens at Cliveden.
In addition to my work at BCA, I teach gardening at centres in Oxfordshire, TVU (the old Reading College) and Purley Park Trust. A great deal of my work involves teaching gardening to people with a learning disability and, as you may imagine, this work can be very satisfying.
If you have any gardening queries or problems, please do not hesitate to contact me on this AboutMyArea website and I shall do my best to help.
Best wishes and Happy Gardening!
