GlastonburySome time between 13/13 October person(s) unknown removed a quantity of electrical wiring from the rear of Becks Electrical in Lowerside Road, Glastonbury.
During the afternoon of 14 October a bag and contents was removed from an elderly lady whilst she was shopping in the Glastonbury town area.
Overnight 15/16 October person(s) unknown caused damage to a Suzuki motor cycle left parked and unattended in Northload Street, Glastonbury, by breaking off the wing mirror, tax disc holder and badge.
Overnight 17/18 October person(s) unknown smashed a plate glass window in the front door of The Gauntlet, High Street, Glastonbury.
Overnight 17/18 October person(s) unknown caused damage to a Mercedes motor vehicle left parked and unattended in St Brides Close, Glastonbury, by scratching the bodywork with a sharp implement.
Street
Enquiries are continuing into an incident overnight 13/14 October when person(s) unknown gained access to a secure compound at Miers Motor Company in Creeches Lane, Walton and removed a multi axle trailer. Damage was also caused to other vehicles. Wells Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything. A vehicle would have been used to tow this trailer away.
Overnight 18/19 October person(s) unknown used a sharp instrument to cause damage by scratching to a Vauxhall Cavalier motor vehicle left parked and unattended in Quantock Court, Street.
Some time between 17 and 19 October person(s) unknown sprayed silver paint on a monument and signs in the Crispin Centre, Street. Enquiries are ongoing to trace those responsible.
Shepton Mallet
During the morning of 18 October three males entered the Mulberry Co in Kilver Street, Shepton Mallet and attempted to steal numerous items of clothing. When challenged by staff they made good their escape and drove off in a black Vauxhall Corsa, in their attempt to get away squashing a member of the public between two cars, causing minor injuries. This vehicle was stopped by police shortly afterwards in Farrington Gurney. When the vehicle was stopped all three occupants made off. One, a 31 year old male from Bristol was subsequently arrested for theft and failing to stop at an accident. He has been bailed for further enquiries. Enquiries are also ongoing to trace the other persons involved in this incident.
Some time between 1 September and 17 October, person(s) unknown removed a caravan from a farmyard in Stoke St Michael. Also, overnight 11/12 October person(s) unknown removed an Ellis caravan from a fenced field at the rear of another farm. It is thought these two caravan thefts may be connected. Wells Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen either of these two caravans being moved.
Overnight 16/17 October person(s) unknown dismantled fencing around a building site in Weir Lane, Pilton and removed a red and grey Takenchi digger. Wells Police would like to hear from anyone who might be able to assist with tracing those responsible.
At around 3pm on Saturday 18 October, a purse and contents was removed from a counter in Argos, Shepton Mallet, whilst the loser was filling in the statutory order form. A reminder to readers to ensure bags and purses are kept safe at all times.
Overnight 17/18 October person(s) unknown caused damage to a Peugeot 206 motor vehicle left parked and unattended in Paul Street, Shepton Mallet, by slashing the driver's side tyres.
In a further incidence of damage to motor vehicles, overnight 18/19 October person(s) unknown used a broken cider bottle to cause damage by scratching the entire length of a Ford Focus left parked and unattended in Beech Avenue, Shepton Mallet.
Overnight 18/19 October person(s) unknown removed a quantity of lead tiles from a porch roof in Lower Lane, Shepton Mallet.
Wells
Wells Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of the Wells Football club at around 11pm on Salturday 18 October when a traffic cone was thrown at a moving Fiat Punto, causing the windscreen to break. Enquiries are continuing to trace person(s) responsible.
Some time between 10 and 14 October person(s) unknown forced entry to a shed in the grounds of St Thomas Church, St Thomas Street, Wells and removed a petrol powered strimmer.
Some time between 8.30am and 9.30am on 16 October person(s) unknown removed a silver Ford Escort motor vehicle from Bennetts Lane, Haydon, near Wells.
Some time between 16 and 17 October person(s) unknown entered the Wells Cathedral School complex and removed a quantity of lead from a wall area.
Some time between 16 and 19 October person(s) unknown forced entry to a secure area within a barn at East Harptree near Wells and removed a blue Yamaha motocross motorcycle. This vehicle is not registered for road use so does not have registration plates.
Some time between 17 and 19 October person(s) unknown used a sharp implement to cause deep scratching to the driver's side of a Vauxhall Corsa left parked and unattended in North Road, Wells.
