Glastonbury
A reminder to be aware of walk in thefts. Some time during 19 October a purse and contents and mobile were removed from under the counter of a shop in High Street, Glastonbury, by person(s) unknown.
Overnight 20/21 October person(s) unknown used spray paint to paint graffiti on a garage door at St Mary's Presbytery church in Magdalene Street, Glastonbury.
Some time between 21 and 22 October person(s) unknown removed a child's pushbike from St Benedict's School in Glastonbury.
A 17 year old female from Holcombe, near Radstock was arrested at 1.30am on 26 October in Magdalene Street, Glastonbury, for public order offences. She was bailed for further enquiries.
Enquiries are ongoing into an incident at St Dunstan's School, Wells Road, Glastonbury on Sunday 19 October, when person(s) entered the kitchen area and removed foodstuffs.
Overnight 23/24 October person(s) unknown caused damage to garden shrubs at a front garden in Windmill Hill Road, Glastonbury, by trampling on them and breaking them.
Street
A 46 year old female from Coxley, near Wells, was arrested at 17.45pm on 25 October for public order offences following an incident at the Unity Club in Leigh Road, Street. She received an official caution.
Some time between 22 and 24 October person(s) unknown smashed the outer pane of a double glazed unit in a front door at Tynings Road, Street. Fortunately no entry was gained to the property.
Some time between 11.30am and 12noon on 25 October person(s) unknown removed a blue child's pushbike from outside the main entrance to Tesco's in the Crispin Centre, Street.
Some time between 2.30pm and 3pm on 26 October person(s) unknown gained entry to a shed in Portland Road, Street by smashing the shed window. A quantity of tools was removed.
Shepton Mallet
At approximately 11.40pm on 26 October two males, a 21 year old from Stockwood in Bristol and a 15 year old juvenile from Shepton Mallet, were arrested in Market Place, Shepton Mallet after they had been seen smashing a window in Shepton Mallet Library. Both have been bailed for further enquiries.
Some time between 1 September and 5 October person(s) unknown removed a quantity of lead from a disused yard in Station Road, Shepton Mallet. In a further instance of metal theft, some time between 19 and 24 October person(s) unknown entered a shed in Shapway Lane, Evercreech and removed a cast iron flue liner.
Overnight 25/26 October person(s) unknown forced entry to motor vehicles on the Bath and West Showground site. Audio equipment, an MP3 and CD player, plus a quantity of vehicle accessories were stolen from a Volkswagon Golf when a window was smashed to gain entry, and in the second incident person(s) unknown bent back the driver side door of a Ford Fiesta to gain entry. An attempt appears to have been made to remove this vehicle, but nothing was stolen from within.
In a further incident, a Volkswagen Golf was entered when a front offside window was smashed and a small quantity of cash, cigarettes, phone charger, coat and vehicle accessories were stolen.
Some time between 24 and 26 October person(s) unknown forced entry to a property in Prestleigh Road, Evercreech. Nothing appears to have been stolen.
At approximately 6.50pm on 26 October person(s) unknown ignited a small amount of rubbish outside Whittakers House in Shepton Mallet. Minimal damage was caused; enquiries are continuing to trace those responsible.
Wells
An 18 year old Wells youth received an official cannabis warning on 19 October, having been found in possession of a small amount of vegetable matter when stopped in East Somerset Way, Wells.
A 19 year old Wookey youth also received an official cannabis warning on 25 October after having been stopped in Burcott Lane, Wells at 1.30am and found to be in possession of a small quantity of vegetable matter.
A 19 year old Wells female was arrested In Tesco Car Park, Wells on 10 October following an incident and for breach of an Anti Social Behaviour Order banning her from the Tesco site. She has been charged to appear before the court.
Police are trying to locate the owners of an ornamental garden lantern and a number of solar lights that have been recovered from persons suspected of theft. The items are believed to have been taken from a garden on the Wells to Cheddar road overnight on 8/9 October 2008. Other items included various flammable liquids and sunglasses that may have come from a shed on the same road. Anyone with information is asked to call PC 4058 Parkin at Wells police station on 0845 4567000.
Some time between 10am and 3pm on 22 October, person(s) unknown removed a quantity of chickens from an isolated field in Burcott Lane, Burcott, near Wells.
Some time between 1pm and 2pm on 23 October person(s) unknown entered an office building at Uphill and Son, Chewton Mendip and removed a cash box and contents and a quantity of stamps.
