Halloween 2008 ...

Friday the 31st October is traditionally scare night, thanks to our cousins from across the pond!
It seems that it has to fall on a weekend or a Friday for us Brits to have a party and let our hair down, so here are the venues that I have found that are doing something for it this year ...
Traditionally, the best do in the area has been The Woookey Hole Club, but it's a strictly tickets only affair, and I'm guessing that the tickets have probably already gone, but if they haven't it's definitely worth a go, by all accounts.
Here in Wells, there are a number of events, and in no particular order, here they are...
The King's Head - It's Steve and Nicki's 1st anniversary this Halloween (how scary is that?!! - it hardly seems like a year since they took over to me!). To celebrate, there is a big party, with cash prizes for the best fancy dress on the evening - DJ will be in residence, playing all your favourite music, but will there be any party games going on?!
The Mermaid Inn - Another fancy dress place, but combined with a Karaoke evening - now that is scary, I've heard many of them sing!!! Again, I believe that there are prizes for the best costumes.
EMI Sports & Social Club - Halloween disco (very cheap drinks will help ensure a good time is had by all!!!) - Bet they play 'The Monster Mash'!!
The Crown Hotel - Noon - 3pm, Children's Halloween fun 7pm - Midnight Halloween Party!
The Fountain Inn - similar to the Crown Hotel, but 7pm - Midnight it's a Halloween Food Fest.
The Globe - alas, no party there this year 'it's time to give the other pubs a chance' ... Andrew Mannion (Manny)
Keep visiting back to see if I've managed to find some more locations ... alternatively, if you know of another one, don't be shy, let me know email me
