Grenoside Players

Grenoside players are an amateur drama group based at Grenoside Community Centre.

We put on two performances a year, usually April and November
Our rehearsal nights are every Wednesday, 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm
We are always looking for new members and would say to anyone who may be interested to come along on a Wednesday and meet the group. There are all types of jobs to get involved in- directing, producing, acting, backstage - set building, stage managing, continuity and many more. You will be made very welcome - we are a very friendly crowd !
We have just been successful in our bid for a £3,000 grant from the Big Lottery`s "Awards for All " section. This money will be mainly used to deliver a series of performing arts workshops at Grenoside designed by the Open Performance Centre. Hopefully these workshops will begin at the end of April 2007 and will be available to anyone, over the age of 16, who is interested in joining the group, Telephone 0114 2462 142 or email from HERE
On Friday and Saturday, 27th and 28th April 2007, we shall be holding two " Murder Mystery " evenings with a pie and pea supper, quiz and raffle. It will be set in the 1950`s in a broadcasting studio. After the murder has taken place the audience will have time totry and decide " whodunit " whilst having pie and peas and cold drinks.( If you prefer anything stronger please bring your own drink.) Why not dress in 1950`s clothes for an added effect.
Murder Mystery evening will be a ticket only production at a cost of £6.00 each, pie and peas included. There are no concessions. Tickets will be available form the last week in March and must be paid for in advance.
Book by telephoning the Ticket Secretary on 0114 2460 522.
Information on our November production will be on the website at a later date.
