REAL NAPPIES, REAL CHEAP!
To celebrate the launch of Sheffield Environment Weeks on Saturday 28 April Sheffield City Council and Veolia Environmental Services have formed a new partnership with the Sheffield Real Nappy Network that will make using real nappies even more affordable for parents in Sheffield.
The Sheffield Real Nappy Network is a voluntary group that provides information, advice and product services to Sheffield residents. From 28 April parents and expectant parents living in Sheffield will receive a £10 reduction on the cost of real nappies purchased through the network (subject to a minimum order of £30).
Each year residents in Sheffield produce around 10,000 tonnes of nappy waste - the majority of which ends up in the black bin. Not only can using real nappies reduce the amount of waste going in the black bin by more than half, they also provide a much cheaper way of getting a child through nappies, when compared with the disposable alternatives.
Real nappies have come a long way since the old terry towelling nappies of years ago and are available to suit all tastes in lots of modern and funky styles that fasten easily with poppers, Velcro or nifty plastic grips so the nappy fits your baby snugly.
David Bird, the Council's Head of Waste Management said: "We are delighted to be working with the Sheffield Real Nappy Network to make real nappies a more affordable option and to help Sheffield parents make a more informed choice about which nappies are best for their children."
For more information about the products and discounts available, please contact the Veolia Recycling Helpline on: 0845 355 5515 and your details will be passed to a Sheffield Real Nappy Network advisor who will get in touch. Alternatively, e-mail: advice@srnn.co.uk or visit the Real Nappy stand at Fargate in the City Centre on Saturday 28 April.
