'The Eyes of your Life'?

Why 'The Eyes of your Life'?

Introduction

Why 'The Eyes of your Life'?

Well, a very long time ago I realised that the way we all look at life - which, as individuals, is unique to us - governs our behaviour, our actions and re-actions and general thought process that takes us through the course we set ourselves each and every day.

Simple things like -

  - when you are behind the wheel of your car and are approaching a traffic light which, at that moment in time is green, do you think to yourself..

(a) "I bet it changes to red just as I get there"? Or,

(b) do you instinctively will it to stay green until you've crossed it?

If your answer is (a), you can bet your sweet life, that red is what you'll get. In your mind's eye, you've already seen that traffic light change from "go" to "stop".

If, on the other hand, you trust that the colour green is with you on this particular journey, the possibility of a negative thought has been replaced simply by changing the focus of your internal lens and your view of the road ahead is less likely to be impeded by a mere traffic light.

Take a minute to look at the inner view of who you are.

We're all beset by problems of different magnitude and I'm absolutely not belittling anyone's difficulties - believe me, I've had my own share of pain to work through - but the way I see it is that these set-backs are all part and parcel of that thing called a Learning Curve. It is how we react to all those cans of worms that have been given to us along the way, that make us who we are and gives us an insight into how we see ourselves.

Of course, if you decide not to be positive about all of this and take a 'poor me' stance, and if that's what you want to settle for, then that is YOUR choice! But the wonderful thing about choice is that there is always an alternative and if you are sitting in the doldrums, I urge you to just try a little experiment and change that focus from blurred to clear. Convert your attitude from negative to positive. This will help you shift your perceptions and get you back on track again! The first few times you try may take a bit of effort (this is a new game, after all) but the pay-off is that you will see things differently, I promise you.

Yours in good will,
