Maldon Mud Race 2012

Over 250 competitors from as far afield as Japan and Australia took part in the Maldon Mud Race 2012. Usually run in January it was postponed because of bad weather until April. It has been decided to keep to the end of April from this year on. Heavy rains caused the route to be changed but not cancelled.
The big event was delayed by half an hour due to the inclement weather and the route was changed for safety reasons.
This year instead of running between opposing banks, they ran along the edge of one bank and not into the water, which had swelled with the deluge of rain.
It is estimated that over £30,000 was raised
We would like to thank ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL as the main sponsors of the 2012 Maldon Mud Race and again, we are thankful for the support of REDROW HOMES - BUILDERS OF FINE QUALITY HOMES. With this support, we were able to make this years' event one of the biggest and best ever.
